#01: Detective Conan (Shin'ichi/Conan & Shiho/Ai)

Conan scanned the newspaper lazily before putting it away. Today's headline was about the Memories Egg and Scorpion, or Seiran-san, who attempted to steal the egg. The involvement of Kaitou Kid was not mentioned because no one knew about it except for him. Everyone was still clueless of how Shiratori-san didn't remember anything about arresting Scorpion though. He gazed at Ai, who was reading the weekly magazine.
Ai, who could feel his eyes on her, darted her eyes to him. "Do I have something on my face, Kudō-kun?"
He looked away from her. "I wish to ask you something."
"About what?" she inquired while flipping to the next page of the magazine.
"Haibara, were you really worried about me?"
She stopped reading the magazine and looked at him with a what-are-you-talking-about look.
He gave her a thoughtful look before looking away. "Forget about it."
With that he left to the kitchen to get something to drink.
Ai watched Conan's retreating figure for a while before staring at the magazine, not really reading it. To be honest, the thought of losing him was enough to scare her. Even though she was sure that he could take care of himself, she was still worried about him. When she saw the blazing fire slowly burning the castle, she felt her body turn cold. She felt warmth again when she heard his voice. She was so relieved to find him uninjured that she let her emotions slip out and told him she was really glad that he was alright.
Conan returned to the living room with two glasses of orange juice. He put one of them in front of her.
"I didn't know that you could be so considerate, Kudō-kun."
"That was rude."
She shrugged. "Still, thank you."
They remained still for a long moment.
Ai could feel his eyes on her again. "It's rude to stare, Kudō-kun."
"My bad," he muttered while gazing at her curiously.
She looked up from the magazine.
They gazed at each other's eyes without revealing any emotions.
Ai broke the eye contact, and with a small smile, said, "You're my friend, Kudō-kun. Of course, I will worry for you."
Conan smiled. He couldn't really tell why her opinion about their relationship was so important to him. One thing was sure though. He wanted her to open up a bit since they had something in common. Friendship wouldn't be a bad idea as it was better than just being acquaintances.

Cute! You should definitely try a Conan/Ai romance fiction. (:
ReplyDeleteAre you kidding? That was nice. Of course I like it. But I guess a little romance wouldn't hurt, right?
