Prompt: Baa Baa Black Sheep
...Have you any room...
To be honest, she didn’t think she would ever see Inuyasha again after her mating with Sesshōmaru half a century ago. Though it was obvious Inuyasha was not happy with the fact, he didn’t comment on it. Rather, he demanded the cursed jewel while reminding her that she had promised to give it to him once the jewel was completed. Everyone had visibly tensed when they heard this. Much to her fears, he wanted the jewel to revive Kikyō. Not even Miroku could talk some sense to him as he immediately attacked her full force when she refused.
Sesshōmaru was there to stop him, but Inuyasha, lost to his demon side, kept coming at her. Her saviour on that faithful day was, surprisingly, Kikyō. Unlike her previous sleep-induced arrow, Kikyō only pinned Inuyasha down to stop his movements. They all could see the betrayal in his expression as he came back to himself. Kikyō, they found out, did not want to be revived, but Inuyasha, too stubborn to face reality, wished otherwise. Kikyō then turned to her and asked for the jewel. Although everyone was wary of such request, she gave the jewel to Kikyō, trusting the older miko for once.
As soon as the jewel was clasped within Kikyō’s hands, the jewel glowed brightly before shooting towards her. What Kikyō did that day was to return the jewel to its guardian. Now, no one could feel the jewel anymore, but she knew that the jewel was still within her heart. Within the next moment, Kikyō wished her goodbye to Inuyasha and let her borrowed life go. As the souls of dead women rose to the sky, Inuyasha was released from the arrow. Afterwards, he just disappeared on them. And here he was, standing before her. Seeing his expression, she knew that he had matured a great deal.
“Inuyasha...”
After a short hesitation, he muttered, “I’m sorry... for everything, Kagome.”
Tears filled her eyes as she hugged him immediately. She was glad to have her best friend back. Inuyasha may not know it, but he always had a room in her heart. Looking at her mate, who was watching them, she smiled at him. Yes, even her mate knew that it was time to welcome his half-brother back to the West. Finally, the two inu brothers would stand together for the West.

That is a great ending. I'm horrible at ending stories. So jealous. (_)
