Plan

#05: D.Gray-Man (Allen & Lenalee)
...xXx...
The moment he saw the truth, he couldn't wait another second to help. As Bookman Junior, he would surely record this important day once his plan was successful. Until then, he would try his best to bring those two together.
“Alleeen!” Lavi latched himself onto the white-haired exorcist with a mischievous smile.
Allen, who was already used to Lavi’s friendly gesture, sweat dropped when he saw Lavi’s smile. “Yes, Lavi?”
“I heard it...” Lavi began. A big grin was on his face.
Allen shook Lavi’s arm away from his shoulder and continued walking back to his room. “It’s none of your business, Lavi.”
Lavi wished to tease his friend some more, but after noting how serious his tone was, decided against it. Instead, he asked, “Why?”
Opening the door to his room, Allen spared a sideway glance at Lavi. “Why what?”
“Why did you reject her?” Lavi followed after him and immediately made himself comfortable on his bed.
Allen took his coat off and sat down on the only chair in his room. “Why else? We’re in the middle of the war.”
Lavi shook his head. “That’s not a good enough reason to reject her. We’ll always be in a war as long as the Millennium Earl is not yet destroyed.”
“Why do you want to know so badly?” Sighing, Allen rubbed his closed eyes in irritation. He really wanted to be left alone. After the sudden confession of love this morning, he needed a well-deserved break. Even though he had pulled her away as not to embarrass her further by rejecting her in front of everyone, rumours and speculations had already spread like wild fire. Some said he was a jerk for not seeing what a good woman she was. Some said he liked someone else. The worst was someone implied that he was a gay! For goodness’ sake, he didn’t know what to comment on the latter. Nevertheless, he let them talk behind and before him since they didn’t know anything about him. Arguing with those who refused to hear the truth from him was useless and a waste of time. It was better to save his breath.
Yes, he was known to be kind and polite, but he had his own limits as well. With the war, the 14th, the Black Order and his mentor, he already had enough troubles as it was. He wished not to add more to the on-going list. Hence, a girlfriend was the last thing on his mind. Though, he had to admit that he had already liked someone. Unfortunately, he highly doubted that his special girl felt the same towards him. She was everyone’s angel, and having her by his side would surely bring more enemies to himself. Moreover, there was one particular enemy that he was wary of. That man would show him no mercy for liking his precious sister as a man would a woman. Yes, the one he liked the most was Lenalee Lee, no matter how unreachable and untouchable she was.
He wasn’t exactly sure how or when he liked her as more than a friend, but that didn’t matter. What he knew was he really liked her. Period.
“Allen?”
He blinked, bringing himself back from his musings. “I’m sorry.”
Lavi shrugged before asking, “Is it true that you already like someone?”
With narrowed eyes, he countered, “Honestly, Lavi, why does it matter to you? And since when did you care about rumours?”
A genuine smile made its way to Lavi’s lips. “Come on, Allen. You’re a good friend, and if you truly like someone, I can help you get whoever she is.”
“She is not an object to obtain.” Allen twitched in annoyance. “Besides, what makes you think that I need your help?”
“Gotcha!” Lavi grinned widely. “So... you, indeed, already like someone. Tell me! Who is she?”
Allen shut his mouth with a click. He didn’t mean to spill that little titbit of information. He huffed and looked away from him. “Again, it’s none of your business.”
“Let me guess then.”
“...”
“She had a long beautiful hair.”
“...”
“She has a beautiful smile that could cheer even the gloomiest person up.”
“...”
“She has a very protective older brother.”
He tried his best not to flinch.
Lavi rubbed his chin in contemplation. “What else...”
“...”
“Her name starts with an L.”
This time, he winced in remembrance.
“Ooops! The one who confessed to you... her name also starts with an L.”
He heaved a sigh, enough to last a year. “Really, Lavi, I’m so tired right now, so please leave me alone.”
When Lavi took no heed of his words, he was forced to physically push him out of his room. Surprisingly, Lavi didn’t fight him. Before he could close the door, however, Lavi stopped him.
“The one you like is... Lenalee, isn’t it?” Lavi muttered quietly.
The urge to rub his temple because of the slowly sporting headache was immense. “Whatever you say, Lavi.”
Once again, he tried to close the door, but unfortunately, Lavi didn’t let him. “Seriously?”
“Just tell me who she is. I promise I won’t tell anyone, and I will never bring this up again. Ever.”
With a defeated look, he finally relented, “Yes, the one I like is Lenalee Lee. Happy now?”
Lavi smiled. “Very.”
With that said, Allen slammed his door shut.
Still smiling, Lavi turned to Lenalee, who was leaning against the wall two steps away from Allen’s room. Looking at Lenalee’s red face, he knew his plan was a huge success. Lou Fa had finally found the courage to confess her love to Allen this morning, right after he finished his huge breakfast. He had known Allen for months, so he knew Allen didn’t return the scientist’s feelings, unfortunately for the girl. Still, the sudden confession had brought quite an uproar. After all, Allen was as famous as an actor. Who didn’t know Allen Walker in the Black Order?
Lenalee, who just came back from her mission not long after, was shocked speechless when she heard the news and the rumours around. It was then Lavi came to realisation that Lenalee liked Allen, and unknown to her, Allen returned her feelings. Allen might be good at hiding his feelings for the Chinese girl, but he couldn’t fool his eyes. So here he was, helping them.
At first, Lenalee refused to believe his words that Allen liked her. Knowing he couldn’t convince her without some sort of proof, he planned this. While it was not nice, he finally forced Allen to confess his feelings for Lenalee, unknown to grey-eyed exorcist.
He approached her still form and murmured, “Good luck.”
After that, he left. He had done his part. Now, the rest would be up to Lenalee.
The last thing he saw, before leaving the sleeping quarters, was Lenalee enter Allen’s room. He was pretty sure that the next time they met, both Allen and Lenalee would be officially a couple. Though, that fact would be kept as a secret to avoid the wrath of a certain brother. He couldn’t wait to see Komui’s face when he found out that Allen and Lenalee were going out. Yes... he would look forward to that day. For now, he was satisfied that his friends realised their feelings.
The End
