My Favourite Girl: Chapter 3

#05: Gakuen Alice (Natsume & Mikan)

Mikan began, "But—"

"Please, Mikan-chan," Shiro, the Head Principal, interrupted her.

"I don’t like this, Shiro-kun," Mikan whined.

Persona suddenly appeared at the corner of the room. "It can't be helped."

"But Aniki… I… I don't want you to leave…" she muttered sadly.

Persona pulled Mikan into his arms. "Please don't be sad."

"I'm still here, Mi-chan," Akira reminded, and Mikan hugged Persona back.

After breaking the hug, she sighed in defeat. "All right, I understand. But, can I go with you for the last mission, Aniki?"

Everyone looked at Shiro, who smiled. "I think I don't have a problem with it. I will tell Misaki-sensei about your absence, then."

She smiled and threw Shiro a hug. "Thank you, Shiro-kun."

Shiro blushed because of the sudden hug but returned it nonetheless. He was glad because Mikan was back to herself again. Since she joined Alice Academy, she always kept her cold attitude to everyone. Her cheerful self only appeared when she was around the teachers and her family.

It was lunch time, but Natsume felt like staying in the classroom, and this time, Ruka accompanied him. They were not alone, though. Sumire Shouda and the Queen of Black Mails were also inside the classroom. Of course, they didn't bother with each other. After a few minutes, a pig-tailed girl or his favourite girl stepped into his classroom. Even though he was happy to see her here, he decided to act like he didn't care about her presence.

"Girls," Mikan called her best friends.

The two girls recognised the honey voice immediately and stopped their work and glanced up at her.

Mikan threw them the I-need-to-talk-with-you-girls-now look. Without a word, the two best friends followed her out of the classroom.

Curiosity engulfed him. He had the urge to follow the three girls, but he remembered Ruka was with him now. So, he just shrugged away his curiosity by reading his manga again.

"Welcome back, Mikan-sama," Ren greeted her creator as usual.

Mikan gave a small nod. "I'm back, Ren."

There was an invisible scanner that was placed one step from the front door. The two girls that followed Mikan were scanned invisibly right after they walked inside her room.

"Welcome, Hotaru-sama, Sumire-sama," Ren greeted again after a few seconds.

Hotaru remained silent, and Sumire smiled. "Thanks for the greetings, Ren."

"You're welcome, Sumire-sama."

Hotaru sat on one of the comfortable couches while asking Ren to make an apple juice for her.

Sumire faced Mikan. "So?"

"Serio-nii-san will be transferred to Alice Academy of America in the next three days."

Hotaru was drinking her juice while Sumire playing with one of Mikan's inventions. Even though they were busy with themselves, they were listening.

Hotaru put her glass down on the glass table of the living room. "So, you were asked by the White Snow to replace Serio-nii-san."

Mikan sweat dropped. If Shiro-kun knows Hotaru-chan called him White Snow, he would be furious by now.

"Good luck with the DA students, Mikan-sensei," Sumire teased with a very wide grin on her face.

Mikan sighed. "I'm going to America with Serio-nii for three days. Two days for mission and the other day to meet one of my customers."

"So, you're going to leave tonight?" Sumire confirmed.

Mikan nodded, and three of them continued talking with each other until she left to America.

Where's the little girl? Natsume thought worriedly. For the past three days, he couldn't find his favourite girl everywhere. The last time he saw her was when she came to his class to meet Sumire and Hotaru. He was making his way to the class now and accidentally heard Yuu Tobita talking to Akira Azumi.

"Akira-san, do you know where Mikan-san is?" Yuu asked.

Akira replied, "Mikan?"

"Yes, I need to give this report to her. It's about our last meeting." Yuu handed him the report.

Akira took the report. "Mikan went to America three days ago."

"America?" Yuu exclaimed in surprise. He then smiled sheepishly for his outburst. "I'm sorry, Akira-san."

"It's okay. She usually goes there for a day, but something's up so she has to stay there for three days."

"Oh."

"She will be back tonight, so I think I will just hand this report to her later," Akira offered.

Yuu smiled. "Thank you, Akira-san."

So, the little girl went to America, huh? Natsume turned his heels and made his way to his sakura tree.

So tired… Mikan thought as she plopped herself on the bed tiredly. She just came back from America after a mission and a meeting with her customer. Getting up from the bed, she quickly went to the bathroom to clean herself.

Her mission with Persona went without any trouble. At this moment, she was heading to a big and high building called Sakura Inc by a black limo. Once she stepped inside the building, everyone greeted her with respect since she was the owner of the company. After reaching her own office room, she sat down while looking at the pile of documents that needed her signature.

"Good morning, Mikan-sama," Richard bowed.

Mikan replied him with a small nod. "Remind me one hour before the appointment's time."

"Understood." Richard nodded before leaving the room.

Mikan sighed as she started studying and signing all the documents.

A few hours later, Richard informed her, "Mikan-sama, Mr. Dave has arrived."

Mikan pondered, 'Dave? If I'm not wrong, Dave is Mr. Road's son.'

"Why?" she asked shortly.

Before Richard could reply, a voice replied her, "My father has an urgent appointment, so I came in his stead."

Mikan stood up instantly and they both started walking towards each other. Dave was a handsome blonde with a pair of amethyst eyes. He had Asian features from his mother who was Japanese. From his Armani suit, everyone could tell that he was rich and a powerful man. He owned a few trading companies at America.

She held out her hand. "Welcome to Sakura Inc, Mr. Dave."

Dave shook Mikan's hand. "It's my pleasure to meet you, Ms. Sakura."

'A young, beautiful maiden,' Dave marked mentally.

She almost raised an eyebrow as she read his thought. 'Maiden?'

Their meeting went on smoothly with an agreeable price. To be honest, she didn't like the idea of meeting one of her customers just to discuss one of her inventions, but Mr Road was her best buyer. It was not until later that she realised Dave was trying to court her.

"May I ask something, Mikan-san?"

"Sure, Dave-san."

"Are you free on the next Saturday? I would like to have dinner with you."

Mikan went silent. 'Here we go…'

Dave's hope-filled eyes made her feel uncomfortable. She didn't know how to react properly. This was not the first time she had been asked by someone, but when she looked at his eyes, she couldn’t help but feel guilty if she rejected his invitation. She smiled. "Sure, it would be my pleasure to have dinner with you, Dave-san."

Dave's face lightened as he smiled and made a promise to pick her up at her mansion next Saturday.

What have I done? Mikan closed her eyes while sighing inwardly.

A few hours later, while drying her long brown hair with a white towel, she noted, The ball is in on the next two days, should I attend the ball?  She looked up at the sky that filled with many stars, and when she looked at her balcony, she saw a small note with a stone on top. She smirked and asked Ren to get the note.

Mikan smiled to herself and decided to reply the note. She asked Ren to place the note at her balcony and went to bed afterwards.
Natsume woke up on the middle of night because he couldn't sleep. He then decided to check his favourite girl's balcony. He smirked when he saw a pink note. He quickly took the note and went back to his room again. After read the note, he went to sleep with a smile that plastered on his face.

From that day onwards, Natsume and Mikan always exchanged notes every night with each other through her balcony. Of course, she already knew Raven was actually Natsume Hyuuga, but she decided to keep quiet about it. Sumire and Hotaru also knew about this since they already made a promise to not keeping secret from each other since they were little.

The ball had finally come, and Natsume was waiting his favourite girl. Because of the mask he was wearing, no one recognised him, but once in a while, a girl would start asking him to become their partner, but he ignored all of them. When he almost lost his patience, the front door was swung open, and his favourite girl stepped into the hall. Boys were drooled over her, and girls admired her beauty even though some of them glared at her with jealousy.

Akira stared at the girl in disbelief. Mikan…

A smile was formed on Natsume's face as he approached her. She wore the gown that he bought for her. The gown was hugging her body perfectly. Just for tonight, she let her long brown hair down, which made her look like a goddess. Standing in front of her, he gave her a low bow. "Thank you for accepting my invitation, Tangerine."

"You're welcome, Raven." She gave him a gentle smile, and some of guys were fainted after witnessing her smile.

He returned her smile. "Will you dance with me?"

"Certainly."

They went to the dance hall and started dancing.

Who is he? Akira thought angrily.

Everyone inside the hall was staring at them with jealousy, and of course, the Hotaru was busy taking their pictures. She also knew that it was the beautiful girl was her best friend Mikan. Because of Mikan, she could make more rabbits.

Still dancing, Natsume whispered into Mikan's ear, "You look beautiful."

"Thank you," Mikan whispered back and gazed at his crimson eyes. I hate those eyes…

You look more beautiful than I expected, Natsume thought and gazed at her hazel eyes. You have beautiful eyes, Mikan.

After they finished dancing, both of them went to the balcony, holding hands.

Mikan had tried to release Natsume's grip but he wouldn't let her go. She sighed and looked up at the sky. "What do you want to talk about, Raven?"

He stayed silent for a moment before pulling her close and kissed her on the lips without warning. Her eyes widened in surprise, but she returned the kiss with the same intensity. Of course, that surprised him. He never knew she would return his kiss. He deepened the kiss and tasted every inch of her sweet cavern. When they nearly reached their limit, they broke the kiss.

Finally, she thought and started walking away from him, but unfortunately for her, he caught her wrist.

"Where are you going, Tangerine?" he whispered huskily.

She twitched slightly. This guy is persistent. An idea crossed her mind, and she seductively replied, "I would like to go to my room, Raven… would you like to come with me?"

His eyes widened, and she used this chance to get away from him. She smirked mentally. Innocent boy, huh?

It was after she was long gone that he snapped out of his shock. He sighed before smirking. I will make you fall in love with me, Mikan.
