I Love You: Chapter 8

#07: Gakuen Alice (Natsume & Mikan)

The group looked at Mikan silently. Their faces lightened up when Mikan slowly opened her eyes.
"Mikan-chan…" They rushed to her side immediately.

Mikan looked at them emotionlessly. "Mikan?"

Their eyes widened in shock as they thought the same thing, Her voice!

Mikan tilted her head to the right and furrowed her eyebrows. After a few seconds, she murmured, "I see…"

"Who are you?" Natsume asked demandingly while the group turned to look at him in bewilderment.

Mikan turned to look at him. Slowly, she got up from the bed and walked towards him. "Natsume…"

When she was about to touch Natsume's face, Mitsuki spoke, "Sakura-san."

Mikan stopped and turned to Mitsuki.

Mitsuki started fidgeting as Mikan was staring at her intensely.

"Kurokawa," Mikan growled.

Mitsuki stiffened.

The group was confused. How does she know about Kurokawa-san?

The colour of the six-pointed star darkened as Mikan's eyes turned crimson. Her brown hair grew longer while the colour turned black. Her fingernails and fangs grew as she slowly rose into the air. Mikan opened her mouth and let out a piercing scream.

The entire student body of Gakuen Alice blocked their ears before fainting.

"Mikan!" Natsume's inner heart exclaimed.

The scream stopped instantly.

Mikan dropped to the ground, and everything returned to normal. Tears started forming in her eyes when she saw her unconscious friends. 'Everyone… I'm sorry…'

Slowly, Natsume approached her and hugged her tightly. "Everything is alright, and I'll be here with you, always."

It had been three days since the incident. Surprisingly, no one remembered about that incident except for the group.

"Mikan-chan, are you really alright now?" Narumi-sensei asked worriedly.

Mikan smiled. 'Hai. Don't worry.'

"If you say so, but please don't push yourself too hard, okay?" Narumi-sensei sighed.

After getting a nod from Mikan, Narumi-sensei left.

"Mikan-chan…" Koko called in concern.

Mikan smiled at the group. 'Everyone, there's something that I need to tell you.'

The group including Natsume and Mitsuki turned to look at her. Two days ago, Mikan had made a silver bracelet for Mitsuki, too, so she could hear Mikan's mental voice. They sat themselves on the coach before looking at Mikan again.

Mikan took a deep breath and began, 'A few days ago, I gained the ancient memory of my family. It was what Otou-san had been telling me about. Every ten years, one will be born with his/her demon side, and it will awaken when the ancient memory of the family returned to him/her. About the incident, I think my demon side went wild because…'

The group went silent, and Mitsuki quickly said, "Please don't worry about it, Sakura-san. It's not your fault…"

Mikan smiled. 'I have concluded this based on my memory. The price is both of us will turn into demons. As you can see, I'm still human in appearance. My demon appearance will stay permanent if the one who helped me came from the royal blood.'

Silence filled the room.

After a moment Hotaru commented, "Makes sense…"

"But still, we don't know how to lift the curse," Koko added softly, and the rest of the group sighed in defeat.

Suddenly, Hotaru smiled mischievously as she stared at Mikan. The group grinned, too, as they stared at Natsume. Mikan and Natsume sweat dropped.

"They are planning something," said Natsume's inner heart.

Mikan nervously replied, "Definitely."

"Are you scared?"

Mikan glared at him. "I'm not!"

Unnoticed by them, the group grinned wider at them.

"But you look like you are." Natsume smirked.

Mikan gritted her teeth. "I said, I'm not!"

Natsume stared at her.

"What?"

"You look beautiful."

Her eyes widened. "W-what? S-suddenly saying something like that…"

To hide her blushing face, she turned away from him.

They didn't even realize that the group had already left them alone.

Slowly, he approached her.

"W-w-what are you doing?" She clutched her blanket tightly and moved to the other side of the bed.

When he reached her bed, he sat beside her. "Are you afraid of me?"

She stayed silent when his hand reached out to caress her face, and unconsciously, she leaned to his hand.

Pulling her closer, he hugged her and whispered into her ears, "Is this your first kiss?"

A bright blush on her face, and he smirked.

Mikan, who saw his smirk, pushed him away. 'Stupid Natsume.'

He smiled mentally and pulled her closer again. "You should be honoured to have your first kiss with a real prince."

Still, she pushed him away and got up from the bed. 'No, thank you very much. I'd rather have my first with someone else rather than a prince.'

Natsume looked at her with pained expression. Why does it hurt so much when she talks about guys other than me?

His heart ached painfully.

Unknown to him, she also felt the same.

She sighed. 'I'm sorry…'

The next thing that happened was that Natsume was on top of Mikan. His arms trapped her from running away.

They stared at each other eyes as he murmured, "May I have the honour, Princess Mikan?"

Before she could utter a word, he kissed her forehead which left her speechless. She opened her mouth but closed it again. When she opened her mouth for the second time, it was sealed with his lips. She gasped in surprise when he slipped his tongue. He used this chance to deepen the kiss. It felt like a dream for her as she slowly closed her eyes and replied to his kiss. It was a kiss that was filled with passion and love. The kiss lasted for minutes before they broke apart breathlessly.

She smiled as she caressed his face. 'I love you…'
