#35: Gakuen Alice (Natsume & Mikan)

He was afraid of what her answer would be, but still, he had to know. "Did you talk to your parents?"...xXx...
Before she could answer, someone knocked on his door. He cursed mentally before permitting entry.
It was Kai and a girl dressed in black.
The raven-haired girl bowed towards Mikan. "Young Mistress."
"Oh, alright," Mikan said before turning to him. "I have to go, Natsume. Take this…"
He took the light blue envelope from her and raised an eyebrow.
"No time to explain right now, but please come early. I'll see you tonight."
He had no chance to reply as she kissed him on the cheek and left his office immediately. Looking at the envelope, his made a few guesses. Birthday invitation? It was plausible but not possible. Could it be that this was an invitation to her engagement? Impossible! He kissed her a few minutes ago, and she returned his kiss for goodness' sake! She might not like her soon-to-be fiancé, but she would remain faithful. He was sure of that. After taking a deep breath, he scanned the letter quickly. A frown marred his forehead as the letter stated an introduction party would be held that night.
